Repentance (Tawbah) – A Solemn Poetry

Is the feeling
It is the act
One recognizes and tries to right a wrong
Gain forgiveness from someone
Because I’ve sinned
Make me produce admissions of guilt
A solemn promise
A resolve not to repeat

Make me attempt restitution for the wrong
Make me reverse the harmful effects of the wrong where possible.
Because I know the feeling of sorrow
Because I want to grow

To embrace humanity
To love differences
To love regardless of race
To love regardless of worship
Repentance is knowing again love.
